today my umbrella died. really, it died yesterday, but i finally accepted it today as i was attempting to walk to the med school and my umbrella inverted and i couldn't get the metal pieces back into place. so i gave up and took the bus, which was 10 minutes late. but lab was really easy today so it was ok, minus the two hours i spent weighing ( Read more... )

today was the first day of work. basically, i will be getting paid approximately 72 dollars for sitting around all day, listening to inappropriate conversations being had around fifteen-year-olds, watching a movie created by one of shig's really weird, but awesome, friends, and sleeping for a good hour on top of my brand-new arabic dictionary. yesterday was good in lab; i had this major breakthrough with my rat handling and now i can pick them up without feeling like they're going to kill me or that i'm going to squish them. i am very very very happy about this. however, one of my rats pulled the acrylic cap and cannula out of his head and it left this large hole. that was probably ( Read more... )

this has been a very good, very angry, and very exhausting week. living in union square is yes. as is being able to walk to class. having one class a day is amazing, so is waking up at 9 every day. what is not awesome is having class from 8-10:45 am. especially when i had to wake up today at 7 after waking up at 9 all the days before that.
