ILU for posting this, because now I don't have to thumb all the way back to your comment that had these fic titles. You have no idea how lazy I am about cleaning my inbox!
Am glad something good is coming out of my long-delayed leap of faith in putting stuff on my page. Having actually _made_ things I could stick here has given me a reason, and all our discussions have given me courage. And I got around the update problem by posting things that are more or less here to stay.
*blushes* You totally deserve it because good AND funny Guy/Marian stories are a rare thing. Those two need to lighten up, though I am guilty as charged of being stuck in the serious mode now that I tried writing them. *runs off to find About to be Robbed and comment*
LOL, you are too right! Aaahh, but serious mode is the THING! Makes the bright so much brighter. :-)
Am really looking forward to more of Ransome, your writing is so addictive! Love the way you convey their feelings AND how you convey the sense of 'being there', in a historically accurate setting! That's like Christmas to me!
(replying post factum after friending you back, but anyway) of course it is OK! I do not update the journal all that much but try to keep up the links to the more entertaining stuff I posted elsewhere. If I kept a journal of everyday things it might devolve into endless swearing at the managers at my office, and who needs that when there is Guy to talk about?!
Hello, having read several of your recommendations I whole-heartedly agree . . . and I am so gratified to see my "Dangerous to Know" listed among them. Many thanks! I laughed a lot when I wrote it . . . and am glad to know I brought laughter to others. Except maybe Jonas Armstrong. Something tells me he wouldn't have found it all that amusing . . . Have enjoyed our "chats"!
*I brought laughter to others. Except maybe Jonas Armstrong. Something tells me he wouldn't have found it all that amusing* ...no, not with Cyril stealing the spotlight! :D
...as you see I do not make a lot of posts - instead I stick stuff into existing ones by way of an update, but am trying to keep all the nice links and recs together where they can be seen.
I have to blame BBCA for Cyril . . . a documentary about women who were sexually attracted to inanimate objects . . . and one gal was an archery champ who had sex with her bow . . . and so I thought, "Hmmmm . . . a bow . . . Robin . . . yessssssss." And then of course I keep throwing my actual cat into the stories, but then Puddie does love the limelight.
You have things nice and orderly. Two thumbs up!!
I don't post as often as I should sometimes, or get as much reading done as I want to, because of that pesky thing known as RL, my job, spouse, three canines (Beau, Elvis and Rascal)outside and four felines (Puddie, Callie, Thumper and Lucky) inside. And my personal addiction to writing about a certain tall, dark-haired, toothsome bloke I know of . . . Cheers to you, Cheers!
Hi Angie, sorry to pester you. I had a question for you re the dreamerfiction site since you mentioned it on the yuku board and left a post there in your fiction thread - could you possibly check it and drop me a line, either there or here? Basically, someone on ffnet has suggested that I post my stories on DF but I had an... interesting experience trying to register there a couple of months ago that left me pissed off, so I want to know if the amount and quality of Guy fic in there is worth jumping through the registration hoops. Any tips will be much appreciated. ciao Anna
Hey! I must go on record as saying that I am officially the worst "correspondent" ever. You were criticising yourself for replying to me a puny couple of months later - how about half a year and counting?! Truth is, I had a lot of thoughts to write back about - too many perhaps - and then fell into the usual pattern of needing time and the right state of mind to write a "serious" reply vs. getting either too busy or too tired/depressed. The past two months were a shake-up of sorts, what with me having spent six weeks on business in the US and having had family troubles (now largely over), but I am back in Rome now and can breathe easier for a bit. And mind my words, I *will* reply to you re: my thoughts on Guy-fancying :D
And I am very glad if you find the recs list useful. Illusions was finished in late autumn I think and is a terrific read - and do check out Persistence of Memory, which is a real gem!
