Greetings Supernova Participants!

It's been a while (my deepest apologies).

Let's do a bit of checking in and see where we're at?

This is how it's going for me (supernova, in general): Ehhh, it could be better. BUT IT WILL GET DONE. No matter what!
My Supernova is (fill in the blank however you'd like): better in my head than on paper at the moment, but I'm working on it!
I'm super excited for the new year because: I am determined to actually finish some big bangs this year!
One place in the world I'd like to visit is: Australia!!!
Is there anything the community can do to help you along?: I don't think so. Extra hours in the day?

You can do it! I wish I could provide extra hours for the day, but sadly I broke my time machine when writing my Atlantis Big Bang last year.

You sound determined and enthused though! Your Supernova will be awesome!

I think this might actually be my first time checking in, woo.

This is how it's going for me (supernova, in general): Well, I haven't worked on it since I signed up. Then again, I didn't expect to touch it 'til January, so I suppose I'm right on course.

My Supernova is (fill in the blank however you'd like): EXCITING. Still takes up room in my heart. I'm hoping I can actually finish it. It shall be lengthy and plotty, and the first chapter (of many) is already 10k.

I'm super excited for the new year because: 2011 sucked balls.

One place in the world I'd like to visit is: The ocean. I've seen the Pacific and the Atlantic, but nothing wrong with seeing them again. Or a new one.

Is there anything the community can do to help you along?: Well, the last two big bangs I did depleted my brain. So right now I am just trying to read and listen and watch as much as I can, to refill the well of inspiration. I'm up for recs of anything, basically, although my friend is trying her hardest to turn me into an Anglophile.

Yay! Welcome!!!

Yes, I am also glad that it is no longer 2011.

Oceans are wonderful!

It sounds like you have a fantastic start. Sometimes having a story in your heart is where it needs to be while you write it. I'm sure it will be great!

As for some recs, maybe check out some of the rec posts from the fandom snowflake challenge?

This is how it's going for me (supernova, in general): In general? Ugh. Supernova? *snort*

My Supernova is (fill in the blank however you'd like): Here's the thing. I had this idea that I was working on but now I have this new even better idea that could easily hit 100k and I'm super excited about it. I don't know if I would have it ready by the end of March or not. I'm gonna try though. (and Leverage is part of this idea!)

I'm super excited for the new year because: Ummm. Because 2011 sucked. Here's hoping 2012 is better.

One place in the world I'd like to visit is:pompeii

Is there anything the community can do to help you along?: nope

This is how it's going for me (supernova, in general): it's totally not getting done
My Supernova is (fill in the blank however you'd like): dead
I'm super excited for the new year because: I have a grad school interview next month
One place in the world I'd like to visit is:
Is there anything the community can do to help you along?: invent a time machine

Good luck with your grad school interview! That's where the important stuff is for you right now!

As for a time machine, I've got a couple of fictional characters working on one, but sadly I'm not sure I can make them bring it over into the real world yet. They're rather possessive of it.

I am so excited to finally have time to be properly participating in this comm! Thanks for the check-in poll. I hope everyone's writing is off to a great start in the new year!

This is how it's going for me (supernova, in general): Writing is going somewhat slowly, but it's coming along. In general things are OK. So far I'm sticking to my New Year's Resolutions and managing to write every day, even if it's not always quite as much as I would like.
My Supernova is (fill in the blank however you'd like): Fabulous... or at least I think it is.
I'm super excited for the new year because: I have great writing projects planned for this year!
One place in the world I'd like to visit is: Scotland.
Is there anything the community can do to help you along?: Anything to cheer me on or get me to be accountable / competitive with my word counts so I will stop ruminating over the story and spit. it. out. :)

Yay! I'm excited that you're getting to participate!

Writing everyday (even slowly) is a great way to go! And I'm thrilled that you are finding your story fabulous!!!

I'll speak with the other mod about running something in February to get us all going again! Thanks for your thoughts!

Awesome. I look forward to some more encouragement / check-ins / mini-challenges! I am so excited. I've written several 100K+ stories before, but never for a challenge where they had to be longer than 100K, so this is a real treat! ... now back to writing. :)
