Hi Bookworm :P I agree with you assessment - especially about Danello - I love the part where she says that he looks terrible, and he says "You look beautiful" and Nya calls him a liar, and he says something to the effect of 'Your alive, and that's enough for me" or something like that. But it was just so sincere.
I do agree about the 'down time' I think you get to know the characters a little better when they're just hanging out and being themselves. But like you said - minor.
I gave this series 5 out of 5 too. Two new entries to the "Hall of Fame" this year...YAY! (That's what I just decided to call it, since it's no longer the top 5 anymore, and the top 6 doesn't have the same ring to it XD )
Danello is so sweet! He cares for the person Nya is, and doesn't care how she looks! I also like the part when Aylin dies her hair black and does her up in makeup to look different and they ask Danello what he thinks and he says that he likes the real her better (completly missing the point of a disguise, but hey, it was sweet!! :)
I don't get to have ALL of Danello?????? Well, I was thinking I'd have to settle with one third of him, and then you and Books could each have one third, and then each of us would give Nya back a tiny sliver, and then we would all be happy. Right
( ... )
Well, I'd be happy with... say, 20-25%. Another guy from Faery Rebels caught my eye, and I wouldn't want my Dream Man to be overstuffed. ^__^ That leaves more room for Nya, I'd say. Let's cut her some slack; she did save all of Geveg and Baseer from total destruction. She deserves a date or two with Danello. Heehee
( ... )
We were joking around yesterday, and me and Books just said the same thing!! :) (About Jeatar and Vyand) She definetly has a thing for him. I'm not sure he's to impressed with her, but time together could improve that!
Yeah, we'll give Nya a couple of dates with Danello. You're right, we don't want to be too greedy.
Btw, I began "Legend of Eli Monpress". I was so surprised by the light mood of the story! I definitely didn't expect that. It all feels so animated and breezy, but at the same time the mystery holds a lot of weight. The book's so daunting though. 1012 pages!
Whoa, I didn't realize it was so huge....I read it as three books: The Spirit Thief, The Spirit Rebellion, and The Spirit Eater. You don't have to read them all at once, though - I assume they're somehow separated out? Anyway, where are you and how do you like it? And don't worry, the series only gets better after the first book, so the page count might not be so bad after all ;D
I just got introduced to the Lord of Storms. I really like the world building and the magic system and how all these characters are interrelated. So far I know that the only character I can trust is Miranda, because even though Eli is the main character, I'm just not sure what his real agenda could be. It hardly seems realistic that the only thing Eli ever does is steal things. I really like Gin too. He's like the equivalent of Duckie, but he can talk. =D
You'll find out what's up with Eli eventually - he likes to keep people guessing, but he's also hiding alot of stuff, there's alot going on with him that you don't see immediately.
And Gin is so cute and grumpy and smart in his own way! And he takes good care of Miranda. He's Bookworm's favorite character. My favorite is Nico - I know she's not real friendly in the first book, but she's a really strong character and she's fighting alot of her own battles and you'll get to know her better. I like Josef too - I want them to end up together *crosses fingers*
