This was a seriously spectacular chapter, I loved the interaction between the adult Jim/Spock, and the tough decisive Captain running into the Commander that helps keep him on even keel. I really like the fact that there are clear differences in the relationships between the K/S pairs and how they relate, and not just because of their ages. The younger Jim/Spock have literally grown together during a very difficult trial. It was the sort of instant mesh or don't survive scenario that forges the bonds of forever even if they aren't telepathic yet, grins

Ohh, your Pern adventure does sound interesting, cool. I am glad to hear no non-con too.
As for Divergence, The Enterprise's rescue of the embattled Fleet ships was spectacular, but everyone was commenting on that, and I was so struck by how well you handle the character interaction. That I couldn't fail to mention it. As for Pike and Winona's disappearance, well, laughs, your tastes just don't seem to support random, or viciously in plot character death, thank goodness. So they have to turn up somewhere, and yeah, gleeful smile, I was hoping for another fab rescue, shhhh, I won't tell anyone, honest. I mean how great is it, for Winona to save both Kirk, and young Jim's butt at the same time by being in the right place at the right time, and being hideously, insanely sneaky. I mean you made her so awesome earlier in the story, and Jim has to get it from somewhere, or two somewheres in this case, that now I expect it of her. I love this stuff, grins. Great job. -SB
I'm enjoying this series a hell of a lot. And wow are you building up speed with the posting. I was expecting just one chapter around the middle of the month and came back to three. Yay! My favourite scene would be the end of this chapter with the broken ship's crew cheering at simply being alive and the now Captain's fear for their rescuer's.
Pern stories I love, especially crossover's. Pern is actually the very first fandom I ever wrote and wanted to read fanfiction in. Oh, the time of MUD's and MOO's and community rings with 3000 pages filled with hot pink and sparklingly fonts against green backgrounds. Sinks away into nostalgia.
Glad to hear you're enjoying Divergence! But you must tell me about Pern fandom!!! I wasn't aware that it existed cos I looked on LJ and it seemed not there - I haven't search very hard though... [You'll have to explain MUD's and MOO's I'm afraid lol ]
Pern fandom circa early to mid 90's was never allowed to be a fandom in the truest sense of the word. Fanfiction was flat out denied and sites that posted it were shut down. The author and I think to a great deal her son were very against it. It was around the time (forgive my memory) that Anne Rice was sued by someone claiming she stole their idea's and a lot of people were iffy about fanfiction

WOW that's interesting. Totally did not know that about the fandom though I did hit on the fact with my search that the Author has blessed the ficcing

Yes, it be so funny if a Queen Dragon snubbed all the girls and ran to Jim. 'My name is Spock what's yours? I am in need of supbstance, we should partake.'
I'd love to see a pern fic. Even if it was just Jim getting a firelizard.
