I took yesterday off as a comp. day for Labor Day and a coworker and I flew to Sidney, NE to visit Cabela's. This was the first Cabela's run since getting the plane flying again. Another busy weekend, as usual. Monday I got up and went flying. I decided to see how the plane would climb to upper altitudes. The winds aloft were light so I took off on 26, headed west, and just kept climbing. Saturday was my first violin lesson in about 27 years. I was nervous when I left the house. When I met my instructor, she and I spent a lot of time talking about my experience, what I wanted to accomplish, music theory, etc. She was very attentive and I feel is trying to come up with a plan for covering what I want to learn rather than put me in ( Read more... )

We met with the plumber on the bathroom project. The bad news is we can't move the water heater to the basement. The good news is I don't have to reorganize the garage, move the work bench, etc ( Read more... )

The airplane's done, now on to the next big project, the downstairs bathroom. DJ wants a new Jacuzzi tub. We don't use the one we have because it takes a lot of water and our hot water heater can't seem to supply enough to fill the tub at a desirable temperature. It's kind of hit or miss. As a kid my parents had me and my sister take violin lessons. At the time, we weren't thrilled about it. Lots of practice, going to group lessons, private lessons, etc. When our parents divorced, the lessons stopped. We moved to Colorado and never picked them up again.
