Hello everyone! I've just joined this community, and I thought I would share some photos of my latest creation. I have a wonderful photographer friend who enjoys snapping shots of me while I'm prancing around in garb, and we made a trip to the local arboretum where I had a chance to display my latest gown.

Wow.. what can I say? That is beautiful! :D
Did you use a specific pattern?
And I love the details in you hair... so elegant :)

Thank you! I didn't really use any pattern to make the gown, I drafted it using the contouche tutorial on La Couturière Parisienne as a jumping off point. I put up how I did it on my costume blog, so hopefully it'll help someone that wants to make a saque gown of their own. I should be making another saque gown soon, and I'll document it step-by-step, which will hopefully make my instructions a bit clearer.
Thank you again for the compliments! :D

That would be SO great! :D I look forward to it. I'm totally bookmarking your blog -- the instructions for the saque seem really clear and useful. (Maybe I'll make my own, somedaaay...)

What type of material did you use? :)

I used a brocade that I found during a trip to LA's garment district. (My one and only trip! ~cry~) It's a medium weight drapery fabric, but you could make a gown out of allot of different fabrics.
I'm glad the instructions are clear! It makes sense to me when I read it back, but I never know if I make myself clear to others. x.x If you do make a gown from them, I'd love to see it!

Whow thanks for showing this beautifull creation! You have made a terrific job.
Please dont be upset, but i think you should pin your stomacher inside the dress in stead of pinning it in the outside, thats my only critisism, its beautifull, fantastic and the collours are youms!

Yeah, I know it's inside out, so to speak, but there's a bit of lacing that keeps the gown closed that I wanted to hide. :-/ Always a learning process!
