This is what I read today at www.pluggedinonline.com about the Harry Potter series (books & movies, since the last 2 aren’t movies yet

Why is it that Christians have to be contradictory about absolutely everything? Seriously, it pisses me off. Jesus could come again tomorrow and some Christian reviewer or evangelist or talking head or denomination would criticize him for not coming on their show or to their church.
It reminds me of the movie "The End of the Spear" a very powerful modern Christian story about some missionary. Anyways, none of the Christians liked it because on of the actors was gay, which had so much to do with the story of the powerful message.
Just as many non-Christian messages as could be pulled out of Harry Potter, whether it is wizards and witches or the end of God, there are just as many positive, even Christian, morals... and love being one of them.
Just because Rowling didn't mention Jesus and the trinity and attach a tract (even symbolically) to each one of her books doesn't mean it is worth criticizing as the downfall of humanity.
dude! read what the reviewer had to say and tell me what you think http://www.pluggedinonline.com/articles/a0001775.cfm this is what she looks at, topically, for each of the 7 books -positive elements -violent content -family -discipline -alcohol use -magic and morality -spiritual elements -conclusion
I just put that on there cuz I read her reviews, line by line and topic by topic about what she had to say about the books--and I thought her conclusion was good! especially when takes everything into account as a whole
based on what I've heard, seen, and read from the HP books--it really does seem on a totally different playing field than Middle Earth and Narnia
because of shortsalsa's comments (see below), I just wanted to say that I am not offended and just genuinely want to know what you think about the reviews
(since I haven't read the books, and honestly don't have time to... yet : P)
read it from start to finish for all 7 books and then tell me what you think--these are what she looks at for each book specifically -positive elements -violent content -family -discipline -alcohol use -spiritual elements -her conclusion
ALL reviews are biased! to say that his review is solid and unbiased can't be true! The review is based on their personal experience, and maybe he's been reading too much Max Weber lately. There's no such thing as neutrality in this world. Maybe in the future with zapp, but not now.
