It's quite possible that your data's not gone. Your startup software may be corrupt, but more than likely you'll be able to access your files and pictures by starting up your computer from a CD or a different hard drive...but I just read your post about Mr. Dell Man, so sounds like you're getting it fixed. Just trying to offer you some hope. =)
