I was wrong on the dinner place, but it was a great surprise. We went to a fondue place. I've never been to a total fondue restaurant, it was a blast. The food was yummy!!!!!!! We had a cheese course, it was cheese with pesto and walnuts mixed in it with bread and veggies to dip. Then we had a mushroom salad - also yummy, but not any dipping

Wow, I can't believe you took the kids! Mine (well, DS) would not have made it though the meal.

It's a fun place to head to with friends - I've done it several times for mom's night out. You have a watertight excuse for staying out for a long time since it takes a while to cook/eat the food.

DH & I kept talking about if it would be a good place. Aside from the fact that it was a 2 hour dinner, I think R would love it. C would probably complain about the menu options being miss picky, so we're probably a long way away from bringing them.

Sounds yummy! Wish we had something like that (tho it would probably be a mom's night out thing, as I doubt Jason would like that kind of restaurant!) Glad you had a good b'day dinner!
