The problem with LJ: we all think we are so close, but really, we know nothing about each other. So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Ask away. Then post this in your LJ and find out what people don't know about you!

My mother lives a few blocks away from me with her sister and still works as a waitress. I'm pretty sure my father is still alive, but I have never met him. I spoke with him by phone once when he was attempting to contact his Uncle (also Robert L. Averell) and Directory Assistance gave him my number. So... I got a wrong number phone call and it was my father.

Now that is surreal...and somewhat sad.

Would you be so active in fandom if it weren't for all the hotties around? :)

So, what exactly do you do to while away the hours of 9-5? katelennon October 14 2008, 20:03:22 UTC

I am a computer programmer. I develop and support financial applications for a wholesale bank (we loan money to banks).

I previously didn't have a question.

So, this current fnancial mess: How is it affecting with your job/company? And what is your opinion on the bailout/rescue/fiscal plans?

(And I just caught myself writing: job/slash/company. D'oh!)

Our investment people have been scrambling to move our investments around, but this will affect us only if some of our members fail or are bought out. It is an unusual set-up because we are owned by our members - the banks that we loan money to.

I feel like I should know this but I don't. Are you really an Uncle Bob? I know you are our Uncle Bob(that would never change) but do you have siblings? And do they have children hence making you Uncle Bob.

I am officially an Uncle Bob... once. My older (and I always emphasize older) sister has a son, my nephew... who is in his second year at Northwestern U. However, my friends kids call me Uncle Bob... even those that aren't kids anymore.

You must be refering to the icon above (which belongs to sillyd and is from the show How I Met Your Mother. I don't believe I have ever owned a fedora, as I am not hat person. I do, however, own dozens of baseball caps.

Nope, I had this crazy idea that you wore a fedora during our Stalker-Geek-Palooza. You must cut a really elegant dash in a baseball cap, if that's the memory I came away with! ;)

Hmm... I seem to recall a fedora now that you've jogged my memory, but I think Squireboy(?) wore it... although it was passed around some.
