Charles/Erik, Marriage/Matchmaking AU temperance_k June 25 2011, 21:30:20 UTC

In celebration of gay marriage being legalized in New York, I'd love Charles and Erik in a modern day AU. Specifically, I'd like it to be an AU where Erik's mom is alive and adorably overbearing, pushing Erik to 'make an honest man' out of Charles. Of course, Erik could always claim it wasn't legal before, but now...

Cue late night call after the signing from mom, who is full of ideas about the wedding, and Erik freaking out because he's never actually asked Charles about wanting to get married and is too awkward!shark to start now.

Whether they're mutants or not is up to authoranon, though I would like a more mundane AU where Erik has to deal with the daily grind of ordinary work, powers or no.

1) I am great with either. I actually LOVE the idea of them being unpowered!

Dec. 2006They met in the waiting room of the ICU. Charles's stepfather was dying of some sort of infection and Erik's mother was hooked up to all manner of machines after a car accident. Erik had been surprised at first that the families of the patients all spoke to one another, but once they started providing him with food he found he didn't mind as much. Charles was the only other person who always came alone. He was also the closest to Erik's age, so they struck up an odd sort of friendship ( ... )

OH ERIK. Monogamy: You don't know what you're doing.

Super excited to see more of Erik's mother, who already seems wonderful, and also more Charles. (I love the little details you write about him--like the fact that he feels like a fail!host if Erik's mom tries to cook for them)

FAST UPDATE, YES.

It's like Erik and Charles are living the perfect gay couple dream, I swear to goodness. (Miniature schnauzer! DRESSED AS JAMES T KIRK) LOVE IT.

I also love how you threw in Hank and Raven's engagement as an additional nudge at Erik, and the Beauty and the Beast costumes were PERFECT.

Erik better hope there's a family ring on his side to present to Charles. Loving the fact that you're putting dates in, BTW!
