Charles/Erik, Marriage/Matchmaking AUtemperance_kJune 25 2011, 21:30:20 UTC
In celebration of gay marriage being legalized in New York, I'd love Charles and Erik in a modern day AU. Specifically, I'd like it to be an AU where Erik's mom is alive and adorably overbearing, pushing Erik to 'make an honest man' out of Charles. Of course, Erik could always claim it wasn't legal before, but now...
Cue late night call after the signing from mom, who is full of ideas about the wedding, and Erik freaking out because he's never actually asked Charles about wanting to get married and is too awkward!shark to start now.
Whether they're mutants or not is up to authoranon, though I would like a more mundane AU where Erik has to deal with the daily grind of ordinary work, powers or no.

A/N: Thank you all for all your lovely feedback!
Jan. 25, 2011Erik got up early on their official anniversary to make breakfast. He wasn't the world's best cook, but Charles found his efforts at breakfast amusing. Erik hesitated before setting out a third plate, unsure whether Charles would be pleased or slightly put out by Erik's including Alex in the tradition. He decided that it would be rude to expect the kid to eat cereal when everyone else got sausage and eggs

I love how mundane Erik manages to be sometimes. ♥ The cute anniversary dinner and the way he adapts to Alex's presence are adorable. Sean's appearance was the BEST, and I cannot imagine how awkward that must be to see.
Also, a million hearts for mentioning how adorably small Charles is. ♥

"Hark who's talking" is INSPIRED.
I love how you're letting us learn a little bit more about Charles and Erik in very subtle ways. Also love the 'Say Yes to the Dress' reference. I can just imagine Raven, Edie, and Charles in Kleinfeld. Throw in Erik, and it'd be the BEST COMEDY EVER.

Authoranon is embarrassed to admit that she has no clue why "Hark who's talking" is inspired. It's just something that I say that sounded like Charles might say.

It's like you took sunshine and made it into something I can read. This makes me so ridiculously happy that I don't even know what to do with myself! It's been a little bit since your last update, and I desperately hope that there's more to come! This isn't to rush you, by the way. Take your time with the magic making.
