Guys, hear me out. there's a lot of amazingly awesome fics about how Erik and Charles re-conciliating/come to an agreement/stay together/generally be happy together/get some closure when Charles is kidnapped post-movie. and there's a truck load of UNFFFF level of kidnapped!Charles fics where Erik goes on an epic warpath and paints the world in blood to get Charles back. so my prompt, lads and laddies, is this

THIS CHAPTER. I LOVE IT. Another lover of BAMF!Charles here, hearing Raven tell that story about how badass 12yearold!Charles was. I want to hear/see more of these (because as much as i love emma, she's kinda a bitch, and i wanna see her put in her place). I don't think any of Magneto's group (other than raven) knows anywhere near the extent of Charles's power, and i can't wait for them to see it.

...Not even going to bother anon-ing, this is that awesome.

Thank you so much! I'm really pleased people are liking this one - I'm certainly having a lot of fun writing it :) Charles is going to carry on being a bit of a BAMF and I think the others have some surprises in store ;)

Oh, I'm so happy you're enjoying it! It really was a brilliant prompt and I'm having far too much fun with it :D I even skipped a particle physics lecture to come home and write fanfic; what does that tell you?! (…possibly that I’m an even sadder geek than you may have suspected but lets move on from that, shall we?)
Glad you liked how Raven was written and as for Emma... well, there's a bit more of her in the part just up below. ;)

Charles had gone back to get all the information he could out of Moira after he spoke to Raven, but as he feared it wasn’t a great deal. What he’d done to her mind after Cuba had lost her more than some memories, it seemed. It had lost her status as well and she was now even further down the pecking order at the CIA than ever. It was remarkable that she had even got to hear about this man Stryker’s proposed ‘Mutant Assessment Programme’; there had never been any real chance her arguments against it would be listened to and she knew none of the details of the project’s base of operations or staff or even its real purpose

Moira jumps a little when they come in and to be honest Charles can’t blame her. Most of this group she knows as CIA targets, Erik had tried to throttle her when they last met and although she won’t remember that the way the other mutant is glaring at her radiates hostility. And Charles himself has… not helped to sooth her nerves today

i couldnt help myself from going all "OOHHHH BURRRRNNNNNNN" when Charles practically bit Erik's head off when he snips out the real situation with his leg. i promised that i tried not to, but -damn- that was just a 3rd degree burn waiting to happen. and Emma.. oh Emma. Is that a bit of respect and whole lot of fear i see? i'm gleeful. i shouldnt be gleeful. but i am. this Charles is just so fantastic :D

Well, he is all stressed but also I always thought he's gotta be a *bit* pissed off about being shot! And I kinda like Emma but she's a lovely foil for Charles' badassness :D

gah! brief anon fail. please ignore if you saw it!They’re silent all the way to the cellar and don’t exchange many words while Charles shows Erik the plans he and Hank have been working on. The tension Charles is feeling is all one dark mass in his chest and it’s only when Erik says, confidently, “I can do this. I’ll need some more material to work with.” that part of that mass breaks off and dissolves and Charles recognises it for what it was. The concern that this wouldn’t work

Without a doubt you know that my attention and flailyness is captured by that yours mine and ours bit of conversation :D I am please, my friend. And possibly foaming at the mouth with giddiness. I love love love that Erik loves the boys as much as Charles. I mean we already know that, but the fact that he asked and that I think he'll be royally pissed at Charles if he answered differently just solidifies it.
