Sometimes I'll start scratching the back of my hands without realizing it, until I've drawn blood, or my arms. I've decided that for me, I'm not going to count it as self-harm if I don't do it on purpose. If I stop myself when I realize what I'm doing, that means that I don't want to be doing it. I consider it a behavior I need to change, but not self-harm specifically. I don't know if thats helpful at all, but it made life easier to deal with as I'm trying to recover. And I'm not sure what to use to get the blood out, sorry!
if big brother really is watching the internet, i'll probably have the fbi at my door after doing a web search for "how to get blood off of books". i don't like the sort of hits you get, so i tried the much more logical "how to clean books" and came up with this: http://www.litterascripta.com/bibliomania/clean.shtml.
