It's not that I'm anti authority, we'd be in chaos without it (and not the good kind of chaos where you get controlled excitement, the bad kind of chaos where you get stabbed and people run traffic lights) there's a time and place for the right people to be in authority. To answer your question about who's in authority and why, it's because the people that want to run things and control things are precisely the ones that shouldn't. And they usually aren't good at anything at all, and it's easier to put them in charge where they can do the least amount of damage. Maybe?

And I like your explanation. It seems like, in my experience, a lot of the people in charge have no idea what's going on, but think they do. By leaving the people who actually do know what's going on to do the real work, everything won't come crashing down.
