Echo's vote is to found Timberling in the Pass. It gives the same sort of of production, a little less growth and unhealthiness, blocks the pass to prevent barbarians attacking Golden Leane without taking Timberling, and allows use of the mana later. Potential downside: it is pretty far from GL, and leaves a lot of flood plains unused and unuseable.
