Okay, I’ve RSVPed with a "maybe". Regarding Siren Fest, when were you thinking of heading out there/going home? I should start actually getting my plans together for this.

Madison, WI is a really cool little city. I've only spent a relatively small amount of time there, but if I were ever going to live in the midwest again, it would be high up on my list of places, despite its bitter winters.

Sigh… I’d really like to. Alas, it was decided that DragonCon doesn’t have enough of a literary track for us to need to send an editor there, and I failed to convince them that it was worth sending me just to buy lots of alcohol for you and M. Ellis. So, not this time. But someday, I hope!

I guess it's a symptom of leaving college that instead of idly complaining about being overburdened by gallons of terminology about works I'd rather just be enjoying, I'm now thrilled to find out that people are doing theoretical work on the sorts of literature that I'd previously always enjoyed in the purely non-academic sense. Maybe if I had to do research projects I wouldn't be so amused.
