Weeeel...the Corvallis curse hit us again this year, hard and heavy.

As many of you remember, the circus came to town...3 years ago with lions, tigers and/or bears at the fairground arena. Tru WAS NOT a fan of the circus! He was terrified of the smell of something, as we're many other dogs. Tru WOULD NOT run in the left hand arena, no way. The right

Hey hon, your videos are "private" and can't be viewed... but in any case.

I"m WITH TRU! I wasn't even there for the circus trial and I can't stand that venue. Super bad Mojo... Plus way to crowded staging area (in and out gates) and usually it's a mud pit.

No Corvallis for us. I'm done.

Yes, very sad for Tru. I was behind him both times. In gamblers he started looking over and realized where he was. He was a very smart boy to run to his crate though.

This seems very venue specific, so it will be easy enough for you to keep him happy in other places.

I was hoping to try to desensitize him with just a few obstacles and run out...I failed. I felt horrible.

Not too long ago Silvia Trkman had a pretty good blog post about fear in dogs, and what she's done to help her dogs (that were fearful) be able to compete. I liked her attitude about it. Now... Tru is NOT afraid of stuff. So when he is... he IS! and I respect him for it. To see him that upset = hard! Now you know. So you can play other places. He'll be fine. Love that dog.

Poor Tru, that is so not like him - certainly there is something there he really dislikes. I don't think I'll be going back to Corvallis myself, bad mojo there.

That's too bad. :( I can't imagine how freaky circus animal scents must be to our doggies!
