BLU sat in the corner of the room, back to the wall, in a position where he could clearly see the door and the window, just in case. Pyro had come and gone and he had made himself scarce, wanting no part in her little dress up scheme. But now that Pyro had left BLU was back, just sitting and watching.
A piece of wood about four feet long was cradled between his knees, wood shavings curled around his feet with every stroke of the knife he held. Right now it looked like a half circle with two flat ends, but each pass was making it look more and more bowlike. His kukri dangled off his belt, within easy reach should RED decide to do anything stupid. Which given his track record wasn't out of the question.
Silently smirking, BLU watched him struggle to get the offending article of clothing off. "I think it's roight fittin' fer ya. 'Specially since th' dog still has yer hat."

Chibi was obviously going to mother these two grown men.

On second thought, there was a limit on that, as well- his broken nose kept him from a full range of movement. He'd been awake only a short while, and already despised the hospital.
As much as he wanted to insist BLU was only in marginally better shape than he was, there was no possibility he could delude himself that much. At least BLU's knee was back to being in poor condition... or so he claimed.
"I never got a good look at it, so I wouldn't know." RED wasn't saying he trusted his rival's opinion on the matter; however, there was no denying that inspecting the wound hadn't been high on his priority list that night, and with the bandage, he had no way of knowing for himself. All he knew was it hurt more than he cared to admit.

"You 'ad a clay roof tile shoved through yer knee. There was a trail 'f blood for a good block. An' all yer fingers were broken, your elbow, you had a concussion. You been in here for a good while mate."
He looked back out the window, taking a deep drag of his cigarette and feeling uncomfortable.

Chibi had never been hurt like that, though he'd taken heavy damage and had a tendency to literally take most hits to the head.

There was one image he couldn't place of him lying down, his fingers aching horribly as they were pushed roughly back into place. He recalled nothing of getting to the hospital, nor of Pyro helping carry him at all. There was only so long he could keep his focus off his wounds.
Some of the injuries had been severe- he knew that much even at the time, having seen them in the dim light of the alleyway. Though there was a definite dullness to the pangs he was sure he could attribute to medication, they still hurt. "How long?"

"Almost two weeks."

The sigh he heaved through his chest was audible as it moved through his throat. He should have been dead; however, it would have done nothing for the blow to his pride, which was the worst damage either way. In one scenario, he owed his life to his enemy; in the other, a stranger killed him for a crime he hadn't committed. Either way, he'd lost his weapons. That was a wound from which he'd never recover.
His scratching of Chibi's ears ceased for a moment as he pressed his fingers into his eyes, biting back the building headache.

Though that was still a distinct possibility with RED looking like he wanted to get up and start moving around at any moment. BLU still wasn't looking at him. While the loss of the other mans weapons made him feel better in a twisted way, it also strangely made him feel kind of terrible. He knew exactly how it felt to be without his gun, though he still had his knife.

He finally returned to his silent glaring at nothing in particular, his gaze moving to the window, then to the door. He wanted nothing more at that second than to get away from all of it: the hospital, his rival, Paradise, and the truth he was still struggling to accept. His injuries kept him chained to the bed; however, what would he do once he was discharged?
A better question was how long that would be. He honestly couldn't remember how badly he'd been wounded, or how he'd gotten to the hospital at all. The night lived in vague flashes, each memory accompanied by a distinct ache as his body remembered what his mind had blocked out.

He was still uncomfortable that the one constant in his life was suddenly gone. No more calling his parents and hearing their disapproval over his life choices, no more vague hints about settling down and starting a family. Just... nothing. He didn't know RED but he assumed the man was going through something similar, afterall RED hadn't been in Paradise for that long.
"Well.... How're you feelin' now then?"

He meant every word of that. He had no idea how Pyro could stand being around this guy, especially if they were the same base. He turned to glare at him and let go another cutting remark, but it died in his throat and he struggled to keep his face impassive.
"Sorry mate, it's hard t' talk to you when you're wearin' that. I sorta want t' pet you."

Worse was that admittance he had to make to himself: BLU was right. It wasn't as though he hadn't known it before- his life as a whole was a series of him struggling against his natural tendency to make things worse for himself and everyone around him, all the while doing just that- but to have his rival point out every misstep he'd made since his arrival in Paradise was throwing salt on an open wound.
Even worse was the wardrobe. Somehow, that burned his pride more than the tree giving him a concussion or the part where his elbow was smashed into ten pieces. "Don't remind me. This is probably what I get for not puttin' it on in the store. Now I'm stuck in it because I can't get it over these bloody

"I'm honestly not sure how she got it on ya in th' first place." BLU hadn't stuck around once Pyro had shown up and announced her intentions. He wanted no part in undressing his rival. "It's not that bad ... Alroight.. It is."
