She wasn't very surprised when she found herself out in the middle of nowhere, long used to the nightly wanderings she had in the minds of Paradises' citizens. Half resigned, yet half curious, she takes a moment to admire the lake in front of her before she noticed the trees and a somewhat familiar man sitting underneath them.

Sniper stands suddenly, pulling his fishing rod out of the holder and slowly reeling it in. From the tension and bowing of the line he's caught something rather big. But it's fighting him.

The sight of the younger Sniper brought forth slight alarm and resignation; she was trapped in his dream now. She didn't know exactly how much he had de-aged here, but it seemed to be a fair bit.

When she reached him and saw him fighting the fish, she politely asked "Do you need any help, Sniper?"

"Nah, I got 'em." He grinned as he reeled the fish in, giving a low whistle. "Well that's a beaut." He didn't seem concerned that his future boss had shown up thirteen years in the past, instead he busied himself with the fish, prying the hook out of its mouth and sliding a rope through it's mouth and out it's gills, tying the rope to the rod holder and letting the fish swim in the shallow water. Like a leash for the fish, letting it swim around and stay fresh until he was ready to leave.

"I wouldn't peg ya as th' sort to go wanderin' around th' bush. Decided t' take up fishing?" He wiped his hands off on the blanket he was sitting on before impaling a worm from a bucket on his hook and casting the line out again. "I can teach ya if you loike."

He seemed a lot happier here. That in itself was surprising, the Sniper was not known to be a cheerful man, even back in their world.

Then she noticed the silver band on his finger and realisation dawned. Guilt hit her hard in her gut, even more so than when she had been in the RED Sniper's dream. This was who the Sniper was a long time ago, before his wedding broke-up. It...it was just too bad of Paradise to pick a time when he had everything in the world, only to lose it.

When he offered to teach her fishing, she accepted almost immediately. Perhaps then she wouldn't have to go through his own thoughts and feelings at this point if he was too busy teaching her how to fish.

"That would be very kind of you Sniper. Thank you."

"Gimmie a second, I got another rod in th' truck." Setting his fishing rod back in the holder he went to the beat up old truck, opening one of the side compartments in the truck bed and pulling out another fishing rod, shorter and lighter.

"Probably a few too many trees here for good casting but that's alright." Smiling easily he passed her the fishing rod. He picked his own back up, demonstrating his grip. "Hold it loike this."

Sniper's easygoing nature was a lot more evident here, his life carefree and easy, made up of everything he wanted. He had a job, a girl, a house, he didn't need much else.

She did as he suggested, but she wasn't very sure whether she was holding it correctly or not. She's never gone fishing before in her life.

"I'm sorry, is it like this?"

"You almost got it." He set his down and carefully took her hand, repositioning it in the correct place. "Take it yer folks never took ya camping?"

"No."

She let him adjust her grip. Being this close to him made her slightly uncomfortable; she hasn't had this much body contact since the "incident which they will never speak off" in Mayfield. It shouldn't bother her, she knew that.

But for some strange reason, it did.

Pre-knowing anything from Mayfield the BLU thought nothing of it. They were just two friends out fishing.

"So here's how it works." He showed her where to hold and what to do to release the line, explaining slowly and patiently so she could follow along.

She listened and tried to follow his instructions. After many tries, she eventually managed to get the very basic gist of it, but it's far from being able to actually fish out anything.

"Aces. You'll be catchin' 20 pounders easy." He smiled again before sitting back down on his blanket and taking out the bird he had been carving. With a smaller knife he started to cut fine details into the feathers, making it look more realistic with every stroke.

"Most 'f fishin' is jus' about being patient and waiting. Ya can't force th' fish t' do anything. Hunting is a mite easier, once you find somethin' you can follow it. With this, they got t' come to you."

Feeling rather foolish, she waited for a fish to take a bite. Fishing was supposed to be relaxing, and she could do with some of that.

A few minutes passed with them both in silence. She felt the tension leaving her body as the warm weather coupled with the silence and peace around her made her drowsy. The last time she felt this comfortable was in Chibi's dream; she didn't expect to find this peace in Sniper's dream.

Stealing a glance at him, she watched as the bird took on more features. She knew he was good at carving, but not that good.

"That's a very nice carving Sniper. What bird is it?"

"It's a kookaburra. Brandy's all set on gettin' herself one someday. But we already got a dog an' two cats, this'll have t' do for now. We'll be a zoo before too long." He held it out in front of him, turning it over and over in his hands looking for any imperfections.

"Someone told her ya can train 'em to talk. She wants to teach it t' insult the neighbors."

When BLU dropped that name on her she almost felt her heart drop to the ground too. BLU's personal history isn't new news to her, but to have the man speak so freely of his ex-fiance was still a big shock. She quickly redirected her attention back to the pond, willing a fish to take a bite just so that she wouldn't have to think up a more detailed reply than "I...I see. That's nice of you."

"I'll get her one eventually. This is jus' for th' meantime." He smiled down at the carving. He wasn't ever going to get her that bird, because they didn't have that much longer left in their relationship at this point, a little less than a year by now.

BLU eyed the line, looking for any signs the fish had gone for the bait. "I don't think th' fish are hungry today."
