No skating Monday b/c it was a holiday.  Wednesday I had my lesson with Coach L.  We did jumps and spins.  I did my first "official" half-flip - ie I actually *jumped* it and had both feet off the ice at the same time!  I know this is a silly little thing, but it's a big deal for me - I've been struggling with that stupid jump for months.  We also ( Read more... )

OOF! yikes! I feel your pain! Its a year to the day since I sprained mine and its unbelievable how many things are virtually impossibly without the use that wrist! definatley get that checked out as some types of fracture dont show up until a couple of weeks after the initial injury (I had to wear a special slint just in case, then got the all clear two weeks later) Hope it stops hurting very soon. Take care, Jayne xx

Owie! Sorry to hear about the wrist. Glad it didn't end up even worse - the one and only time I stepped on my blade on FO mohawk, I banged my head.

Take care of yourself! You might want to skate with some kind of wrist splint/support for some time, too.

Poor you. Yes, buy a support and wear it as often as you need - and you may need it for skating longer than you'd think possible. I'm still splinting my thumb when on the ice and it's three months since I sprained it. But Husband keeps on tweaking it, so it goes on hurting. The man cannot change hold without making it hurt!

That sounds like a nasty sprain. I know that "weak" feeling as well. I've kept a brace on mine many a times skating for weeks until the wrist felt normal again. Maybe that will work for you, as well. An xray is crucial, IMO, to rule out fracture. Many people don't even feel fracture (as one of my friends didn't......). Those damn FO mohawks! I caught the very tip of the tail of my blade recently working the 8-step...I was lucky though.

I'm glad you felt progress on the Fiesta, good for you. And kudos for working the Ten Fox, fall or no.
