Skated yesterday for about 2 hours and had a lesson with Coach L.  DB had left my newly sharpened skated for me.  I don't know what that man did to my blades, but I swear, it was magic.  My edges were solid.  My spins improved, no catching the inside edge or rocking up onto the toepick.  BXOs were quiet.  3turns were not scraped.  I was in shock.

Thats the joy of having someone who coaches you doing your blades. My coach does mine and I no longer have the bother of breaking them in. I can still stop, spin etc... but have marvellous edges. Its just the best!!! Glad you had a good skate ;)

I agree with swing 3, below. I waited almost 4 months (and that's with fairly regularly skating three days a week) to have mine sharpened. I thought they'd feel like razor blades, but they were fine from after the first two strokes.

I'm glad you had a decent lesson, and kudos on your Silver threes! I love that 8-step also, good for you for having a quiet one!
