I'm sorry her birthmom is using again. Such a vicious cycle for the user and for their children, often left damaged again and again.

Thank goodness grandma and half brother were available. And smart move over getting counseling lined up. That is so important.

Things like this are never easy on anyone.

It always helps so much when the relatives are receptive to the child when the parent is off doing "their thing".

So sorry your daughter's birthmom is using again... Drugs never fail to make people forget what is important in life. The little girls that I take care of will most likely go through the same things one day, their mother abandoned them and they no longer see her. They say they don't remember her, but I think the older one at least does because she remembers a lot of other things that happened while she still lived with her mother... but either way they do wonder why she left them. And when a kid asks, "Why didn't my mother take care of me?" there really is no good answer to give! I wish you the best in guiding your daughter through this!

you are doing a good job.

parenting IS very difficult. You at least get to witness the rewards. I'm sure your daughter will do her best and help teach all of us through your postings here to be better people.
