I have to comment about what you told that guy in your class about the "beatings" and why it's so important that we NOT spank our children. My husband and I went through this same kind of training last year to become fos-adopt parents and that could have very well been my husband asking that question. The workers preached "no corporal punishment", but they never quite explained they "why not" as well as you have. I read your explanation to my husband and it made him want to go hug our girl. And I think it made him better understand why hitting isn't allowed in our house. Thank you for that.

Kyesha is 12 and has been with us from birth, but still she is dealing with the rejection of her birth family - thankfully she is open enough to share her feelings with me and we can talk about it.
