9/50 Septimus Heap: Magyk by Angie Sage
I knew I wasn't being too hard on
P.B. Kerr's Akhenaten Adventure. I genuinely enjoyed Magyk, another children's book, and could barely put it down. Which became a problem since it is a 500+ page book, and I have other things to do. *is quite bleary eyed now* It was just loads of fun. Animated furniture is not a novel idea, but I'm beginning to think it's underused, because Sage brings it lovingly to life (er, no pun intended). I'm glad for the shifting perspectives (which was a nice counter point to indispensable good-evil divide) and I really enjoyed Boy 412's character... even if he didn't really talk. :)
Next: Probably the sequel, Flyte, also by Angie Sage
