an update of sorts

Oct 16, 2009 22:36

I’m so far behind in posting here but will try breaking down updates into separate installments. Today’s topic … health. Trust me, it’s best to get this one out of the way first. Then we can move on to travel, home projects, E. coli, dating and all that fun stuff.

Health stuff )

Oh Sherry! I just read your ordeal to HeadBoy and he told me to write 'CELEBRATE!!! They've finally gotten this under control!'

Well, I'll be a bit more temperate in my hoorays, but I am very glad that it sounds like the problems are beginning to be resolved.

*hugs you *

Have a fun weekend!

I'm really hoping the situation with these sinus issues improve. Even if I could just find the right combination of meds to ease the discomfort of the symptoms. The allergist did give me samples of an antihistamine, Xyzal, and a nasal spray, Rhinocort, which worked better than most of what I've tried. Of course, neither are covered on my insurance and both would run me $1000 each for a year's supply. My doctor even tried arguing with the ins co that it was a medical necessity, since every formulary med listed had been ineffective for me. Anthem Blue Cross basically said tough shit and recommended I take Allegra. Evidently my insurance company thinks as little of me as I do them. :P

We're watching vampires, playing with HP characters and eating lots of yummy food. So yes, we're having a fun weekend. :)

I hope you're having a good weekend as well.

I can't believe you were able to eat like that so soon after. I had all four wisdom teeth taken out when I was 18 and it took 3 days to eat anything solid. Wow.

And I applaud you for the donor thing. I am not allowed to participate in anything like that. I'm not even allowed to donate blood. So I am very thrilled when I hear about people I know participating. Go you!

Holy cow!! I cannot believe you've had to go through all of that, but thank goodness you're doing okay (better than okay, actually)!!!

I ♥ you!!!

I did wisdom teeth sans anesthesia. Just me and novocaine. Granted. I couldn't eat so easily as you afterwards, but yeah. And I applaud you for being willing to go through passes for bone marrow. haven't gotten up the guts to be tested for it. And in case my spelling looks wierd, I had too much wine tonight :)

I researched the tooth extraction as best I could before deciding the Novacaine was the best choice for me. I just didn't want something if it was unnecessary. I'm glad your wisdom teeth removal went well. After having that one tooth extracted, I'm sort of glad I never had any wisdom teeth to worry about.

Hehe, the only word misspelled was 'weird.' That was some really good wine. :D

OMG what an ordeal with that molar!! I've had an abscessed tooth too (upper, near the front) which took 15 years to develop after a car accident (v. long story) and damn, that thing was painful - and originally I thought I was getting the flu, and I guess I had a lot of sinus problems during those years too. I'm allergic to penicillin so I guess they must have put me on something like Keflex instead. Endodontia is so much fun, she says sarcastically. Good on you for tolerating it so well; I remember crying like a baby from the pain of the tooth before the root canal was done.

Give writersblock76 a hug for me. I miss RPing with you guys.

Yikes, your story made me cringe. Yeah, I've decided endodontia is some wicked sort of torture. I'm still having to take Motrin for the residual pain from that procedure. It's manageable pain but day-um, enough already.

T and I miss playing with you! *hugs*
