well I had my Concert/Jazz band concerts last night...it was...something else...the concert portion was HORRIBLE! my god it was bad...figures the ONE time my over critical dad shows up it had to be the WORST performance EVER! and then he sat there the whole time, arms crossed swearing under his breath...and of course during the jazz band portion

I sometimes put together little jazz combos during my free time at school and jam... I'd love to have you join sometime! The only thing you need is music, and a willingness to experiment, screw up sometimes, and have fun. The music is probably the hardest part... transposing can be a lot of work, but if you can get a B-flat fake book that will solve that problem. They're pretty expensive, but if you get a good one it'll last you for years.

And the sooner the better! I'd love to get together and jam sometime over the winter break, if possible. It's looking like my 'break' is going to be crazy busy, though. :/

Like what Chris was saying, a fake book will do you wonders. They range from $40-80 or so, but will last you forever. Talk to some people about finding one that doesn't suck though.

There are lots that suck.

And you need to come jam with Chris, myself, and co and be prepared to fuck up and learn from it, because everybody fucks up all the time.
