Quick Knitting Question

In my madness, I decided that I need to knit a quick gift for DD's dance teacher.  To give to her tomorrow afternoon.  And I'm babysitting today and tomorrow (both half days, thankfully) and am going out tonight.  I found a pattern for  this cute coin purse and am wondering:  can I cheat and knit every row since its being felted?  I can knit A LOT ( Read more... )

I can't see the link because I'm not a member. And I have never felted anything so you can probably get better advice from someone else. However...I do know that the stockinette stitch has more "give" than garter stitch and so maybe that's why you're supposed to knit it in stockinette, which I am just assuming since I can't see the pattern. :-)

Since St stitch has more gibe, it might be harder to squre the piece after fleting it, but I think it sould still work in Garter. Also, the end result may be a bit "ribbier" in garter. I say go for it, just pin the heck out of it when it's drying.
