I feel like you pulled that straight out of my head.

I could never imagaine living a life free from an eating disorder. I sometimes wonder how other people do it.

Recovery is a mere figment of my imagination.

I know, me either. Like I just can't imagine even 20 years from now & not obsessing. Once you start, you can't stop.
I wonder that every day. HOW? HOW CAN THEY BE SO CALM? how can they not obsess?

I know.
I was put in the hospital and I didn't even recover there..

i understand completely what you are writing about.
i know exactly what you mean..
never feeling skinny enough, hating how you look, always thinking about food and wishing you can just be "normal" but realizing that that may never happen..

it's nice to know that someone understands.
even though that means you're going through hell as well. =/
it's nice to know i'm not alone on this. it feels like it sometimes.
i know. i'm scared that it will never happen, and yet it scares me to be "normal".
you know?

any tips on coping with GAINING =( weight? vouloir_maigrir February 17 2006, 19:49:49 UTC
i started my program yesterday. it was completely intense.. 5 days a week and two meals each time.. weigh ins and all that (i should have expected it though). so after coming home and crying for hours on end, i convinced my mom to try and switch me into the 3 day a week program where you get to eat your own food. they switched me!! i was so happy, however i have to gain a pound a week and if i don't they will move me back into the partial program. so i've accepted the fact that i have to gain, i just don't know how to cope with it. i weighed in at 96 (i'm 5'2'') and i have to weigh the same for monday. i'm not going to follow their meal system at all, i've already decided that.. i have to gain weight, or else i will be stuck in these things for a lot longer.. but until then i don't know how i'm going to bear putting on the pounds (until i can get out and lose again).. so if you have any advice at all, it would be greatly appreciated.

I feel the same way.
The constant stream of obsession just clouds life.
Reality is so differnt for us.
If you can even call it reality.
I couldn't count the hours we all spend thinking and fearing and loathing food. 24? Haha.
I just want to eat cake on my wedding day guilt free.
I hope I can do that.
I hope I don't screw up my kids eating if I ever have any.
It's all so confusing.

Anyway, take care.
Know that others are out there feeling the same way.
:o)

i know. it totally does.
so completely different. people have no idea just HOW much this controls our life.
24 hours a day. YES. i DREAM about food. i hate that. i wake up and have to convince myself that it was a dream and i didn't eat.
omg. the eating cake on your wedding day? i think about stuff like that so much. i hope so too.
i hope i don't either if i have any. it would be terrible to have kids & have them live this life.
SO confusing.
thanks, it's so nice to not feel alone.
take care hun♥
