I have a friend of that i know is just trying to fool himself and im tring to show him that its wrong. But he says let him be and a true friend accepts them and tries not to change them and i say how can i watch a good friend make bad decisions. Am i trying to change him or am i protecting him? You are right, it sucks. It is always tough watching someone you care about spinning out of control with self-destructive behavior or bad decision making. You can't change anyone, but you can (and apparently did) let him know you thought what was being done was wrong. True friends are the ones who actually step up and tell friends the hard truth in these situations; things the person doesn't want to hear but needs to hear. You don't judge the person, but only deal with the destructive behavior. If someone is already in a downward spiral, they likely won't listen; but to say nothing is often viewed as enabling ( ... )

Thanks for the info, I'll be there when he wakes up and smells the coffie, that is if there is any friendship left. As of now we are not on speaking terms. :( After i said something the rest of my friends said something, so now he feels ganged up on and he probably blames me for turning them on him. I did no such thing of course. So we will see...
