I've been listening to this for the past day and a half myself. It's HILARIOUS--nearly the equal of the book.

Should I get the book as well? This audiobook is killing me. Especially the state songs: "Iowa-wa-wa-wa, what's wrong with my sandwich?"

Totally, if for no other reason than that you can actually see the tables and charts (such as the Table of Omens and Portents).

On the awesomeness tip, I was wandering around the book section in Target last night and spotted a Teacher's Edition version of America: The Book. I wish any of my teachers in school would have a) had a resource as cool as that book and b) been cool enough to use it. I'm really curious about how it would or could be utilized...since it's Satire. I seem to recall some passage where someone--pretty sure it was Colbert--ranted about how much one of the presidents sucked.

It should be free in the podcast section. I think I just sent you an email through iTunes pointing out the correct location. Let me know if you still can't get it. FYI, their "Christmas Spectacular," featuring new Christmas stories by David Rakoff, John Hodgman, Jonathan Goldstein, David Sedaris, Heather O'Neill and a Christmas carol by Sara Vowell was one of the most wonderful things ever.
