Well, honestly, Jones is a very common name. It's kinda like Smith. People use the name all the time when trying to hide who they really are. And Cora isn't uncommon, either.

I'd keep it. It's not like her history is the same as the real life Cora Jones. It's a coincidence.

I've thought about it, and I'm thinking I might just have her not change her name... have her be Boothroyd from the beginning. I'm not sure why I didn't think of that.

And I know her history isn't the same, but I'd worry that since it happened in Wisconsin, that perhaps her family, etc. would think I was cheapening it or something, what with all the witch and vampire stuff...

I don't know, I'm still considering.

I don't think it's a problem eighter. Especially if you don't have the same family name. But to make everybody to understand it too, that it has nothing to do with her, I'd sugest you to write foreword declaring it too. This way no body should have a reason to say othervise.

A foreword... that's a good idea. I already have an afterword, but that might be a good idea. Although, I'm also thinking of just not having her change her name in the first place.
