Remembering back to when I was a kid, I seem to recall one of the more significant lessons taught: do not be a sore loser. I also recall another lesson: if you go off by yourself and sulk, you do no one any significant harm, other then yourself. Both were lessons in that whole collective experience that is "growing up".
