I think the most logical definition for "eleven" would've been (the number which lays directly inbetwen nine and ten on the number line.)

the reason for the definition is because we live in a base-10 society. should the Babylonians still reign in the world then we would have a base-6 society and the definition in Webster's dictionary would have read, "A cardinal number with a sum equal to six plus five."
