i'm not sure if you'll find much, but you can try google scholar, web of science, and/or pubmed. They all have varying sources, so you might find something there...
hope this helps...ishuaiOctober 20 2005, 15:10:32 UTC
I work in a college library, so I tried to do a little bit of research to help you... I don’t know if any of this will be useful, and how much of this you already know, but here is what I’ve found
( ... )
The only problem w/wikipedia, is that is a site where just anyone can post their thoughts. It is not a scholarly article or anything.
I just bought a book @ Salvation Army, published in the 60s. It is called, "They Speak w/Other Tongues" by John L. Sherrill. He was curious about it, so he studied ppl that speak in tongues, and wrote this book as his research. You might want to check that out.
Also, anything by David Bernard would probably be acceptable. I know ppl who have used his work in their college projects. He is a UPC preacher, I'm not sure if you are familiar w/him. But, you can find his stuff @ the Pentecostal Publishing House...there should be a link to PPH on the upci.org website. It is on the left hand side.
Also, boolims reference to Asuza...it was the apostolic outbreak in the US. Look up Frank Bartleman - he was the preacher who worked on spreading the gospel in this country. It started in California. Hope that helps!
Thank you very much. I'll definately check out the book! I have to have atleast 6 references for my bibliography. I'm definately in some need of some hard evidence for my teacher.
