Today, I was re-reading a section of one of my stories. This particular section has been written and re-written and edited for the last 10 years. (Has it really been 10 years? Yikes!)

Today, I realized that I just need to scrap that section and completely redo it.

...That feeling is very liberating.

(And, yes, most of it is complete trash. I even changed perspective halfway through, taking it from third person limited to first person, because I was spending so much time in one person's head. But! It is written, and thus can be edited.)

we have been snowed in for the past two days... the first day, because there was snow on top of ice on top of snow; the second day, because we could not get out of the apartment parking space. it's snowing again, so we'll see what happens tomorrow. i'm hoping to go to work, because i want to save up vacation time... but, if i don't, i won't be ( Read more... )
