from what i have heard, the servings size in america is larger then in other countries. So, it is hard to eat here. At least for me. Becouse i to, am used to having to finish my plate (from those treatment times) and you have to eye things to make sure you are getting the correct serving. I always research different resturants before i eat there, so i can get an idea, if they have the calorie contents and what not. It is a struggle. But if you are living in new york, they will have tons more options and health conscience places to eat, then where i live.

If you go out to most restraunts, yes the portions are HUGE. But as was said, New York will have very healthy places to eat. I would just warn to watch out for HFCS and the nasty added sulfites in wine.

when you go out sometimes you can order a half size. it's still a huge amount though. i usually have to clean my plate too, but with this portions, it's actually really really hard to eat everything.

email me, if im not too shy itd be nice to meet you for lunch or something, i know some good places that are fairly healthy and that don't give you a huge amount. lenadeleo@yahoo.com

No doubt, everything you've heard is true. "Healthy" or "Fat Free" doesn't always mean...healthy. For healthy grocery stores, you might try Trader Joe's or Whole Foods Market---but I'm not sure if they are in NY, and they are a little pricier. I'm halfway across the country, in Michigan. :)
