Don't worry about it. Photography's enough fun that 'normal' people get all entheusiastic about it and lug about expensive camera equipment as a hobby--there must be something to it, y'know?
(How many people do you know who get all happy about taking pictures on their vacation? Now, contrast that to the number of people who do interior design while on vacation.)
It will be ok. Photography is a completely different game than interior design. There are rules and techniques, of course, but there aren't so many that they overtake the creative side.
Just take a deep breath, and realize that your friends have your back. If you feel like you're slipping, or feel overwhelmed, give one of your friends a call. We are all here for you and love you.
I think that photography will work out better for you, because I don't think that you'll feel like you're alone, or that you would be letting anyone down if you decide that it just isn't for you.
I wish I could say more to calm your fears, but I am not as eliquent as I would like to be. Remember you can always give me a call if you are feeling low or overwhelmed.
You never struck me as one for interior design... as for a career in music, it seems only slightly more probable. I think of the three, I can definately see you doing something with photography, even if I don't know what you'd be doing. Who cares? It's a new start for you, so don't keep reminding yourself of past mistakes or failures. Forget the past. Learn from it. The only way it can come back to haunt you now is if you decide "Hey, screw this totally sweet Photography thing, I want to go back to Interior Design!" ....which will never happen. Point? Well, I had a point, but as I meandered it got lost somewhere along the way.
