Watching both Grindhouse movies last night. Planet Terror = rubbish, Deathproof = really good. Both were the DVD versions, which meant they'd been padded out with 10-20 minutes of extra footage each, to make them into "proper" full-length movies. You didnt like Planet Terror?!

I thought Deathproof was a bit slow but the ending was fantastic

did you watch each full length films seperately, or did you see them both as part of the "Grindhouse" double feature?

Planet Terror was fun and Rose McGowan = amazing, but i thought it was a bit long and stupid. I know it was meant to be stupid, but it didn't work for me. No character development, no decent dialog, the action was good though.

Deathproof was the opposite - lots of cool dialog and character developement(typical Tarentino), and of course the end is AMAZING!!

I watched Deathproof a few weeks before Planet Terror. Did you see the trailer for Machete?

I downloaded them - then watched em on my media centre pc/TV hookup. sorry. lame huh!

but yeh, movie night at yours or mine sounds good :)

I went to see deathproof at the cinema. Ending was great, the rest of the film CRAP. I wanted those other girls to die and quicker then they did. It was boring as hell listening to them yack on, I hope no one ever makes a film of my conversations otherwise Ill have kurt russel wannabe on my tail.

And planet terror was AWESOME! I loved how cheesy and crappy it was. Rose McGowan kicked ass with a gun leg. It was so b movie it was brilliant!

and you're right, Tarentino had to add 25 minutes of extra dialog to Deathproof so that it could be released as a standalone film in the cinema! that did kinda ruin the pace in the middle of the movie. All that chatting around tables wasn't meant to be there! But i did still enjoy it more than Planet Terror.

he could have added more people to die though. It has to be said I love rosario dawson. Shes just a little bit scrumptious. Woah, check the lesbian in me coming out lol.

The saving part of death proof was when they completely kicked his ass. That was the single good part of the film.

Planet terror was just so silly it was great, shall be buying that when it comes out. Fancy drinks this sat?

i really liked both films actually i really want them to bring out a dvd box set of grindhouse as it was originally meant to be!

we so need to all meet up before christmas, i am thinking maybe next friday somewhere? you up for that?

Grindhouse DVD is coming out in 2008 :)
