Man...all this talk about RPGs has got my tendency for obsession going. By that I mean I have a way of getting stuck on something until I purge it from my system...or perpetuate it until it exhausts itself

Man, you really should have sat in on our Falkenstein campaign. You sat in on probably the poorest performance we've had in a while. Falkenstein was amazing in its hilarity and the amount we played in character (Toaster and I particularly

I think it would be great if I could get past the awkwardness of being in person.
Never went to PBE or message boards. I guess I need the speed of a chat room. I like reactions and to react to events as they happen (relatively).
I understand "noobs" all too well though. I didn't stay in public chat rooms for more than a few months. I've ethier played in private rooms with a close group of people or done it on AIM individually.
*lol* I don't think I have anything back from that early. I do have some old stuff though. Not sure how much better I've become. Bigger vocabulary at least. =P I rarely use proper punctuation though. I'll take a "..." for a pause over a comma any day.
Now, I've never chat room rp'ed, so maybe I have a flawed look on things, but to me there's a happy medium to be found between free form (vulnerable to some noob screwing everything up) and super "crunchy" tactical games like D&D and Shadowrun (don't get me wrong. Those are the games I started on, and I heart them but last time I played D&D, we spent 30 minutes fighting one group of orcs. Cheez).
Games like Falkenstein are great because they have enough structure to keep things from getting too out of hand, but loose enough where you don't get bogged down in rules (wait, what was the target modifier for two gun shooting, again? Oh, and I'm using a smartlink and recoil suppressors, so I need the bonuses on that etc etc).
Oh good god. Now people can clearly see all of my horrific typing errors. -Thanks-, Phillip >___> *le sigh*
I pity the people that actually bothered to read those posts. Science majors like myself aren't precisely known for being creative and using adjectives >_o
