You OBVIOUSLY don't watch Mythbusters. They did a whole episode about fireworks in trombones to see if this could have actually happened. I don't remember the outcome. But it was an awesome episode.

There was a SLIGHTLY different version of this in the Darwin Awards where the slide actually killed somebody. Kevin White and I found it in the book in 9th grade in, ironically, band.
