The only thing that could ever make you feel like you're missing something is yourself. You need to get to know yourself and fall in love with who you are. Nothing around you, nothing you can put in or take away from your body will ever fill the void that comes from not knowing and loving yourself. Find a book - a philosophical book, a self-help book, hell even a religious book - that will make you think.
I give you this advice because I know how you felt and I know how you could feel. And remember what my mom always tells me: "Nobody can ever complete you, only YOU can complete you".
Isn't there always something missing.. but once you've had it and it's gone then you miss it? You didn't miss it before it was there but it was there...
