Everything goes too fast. You don't notice things, you ignore things, you forget to pack lunches and end up eating the smooshed granola bar and dried-up roach you found at the bottom of your backpack.
But most of all, you ignore things.
I wanna be a drifter again, unemployed, and floating on a 'But I'm in college' excuse.

The day after my 19th.
My head hurts.
I picked a fight with this dude who was being mean to his girlfriend.
I have a mysteriously huge bruise now.

She has a tumor just above her spinal cord opening at the base of her skull
She lied to me, told me she had balance problems
My mom told me tonight
And there are no words to describe this
Just cigarettes and endless phone calls

It's pretty much been grey here for the last week. To break away from the never-ending job hunt and that bitch receptionist at city hall, I went down to Seattle with Scott to see Showbread. Little girl voices grate on my nerves.
I hope my unborn child is a boy.
and he will play in the mud,
slinging great mounds of clay
onto walls, where he will smile
at his DaDa masterpiece.
And though he won't know what DaDa
is, or means, I'll be there
to show him.

Calling into work today.
It's beautiful outside,
And I want to think.

Processing credit cards
And selling roadside insurance
Isn't on my agenda.

Today I'm going to go for a walk
And cook for someone hungry
Because I will do what I want.

Today I get contact lenses. Hard contacts apparently feel like wearing a shard of loose glass in your eye for the first month. But they last forever and are clearer so bring on the blinding pain ( Read more... )
