Someone told me that the Christmas tree set up on a large piece of equipment in my town is put up every year by a volunteer. Someone actually climbs to the top in the middle of winter and strings lights around the wire frame. They do this so that everyone in the town can see and enjoy it. I don't know if this is true or not. I'd like to think it is

This may mean absolutely nothing, but still... this1lastbreath December 27 2004, 00:53:54 UTC
"Somewhere along the way
I found the meaning
Woke up dreaming
Along the way
Never quite seems the same
When you awaken
And making up for the time
Is such a price to pay
Then they take your dream away
And it just ain't fair"
-Help me through the night (Joe Walsh)

"Does anybody listen or care anymore?
We are living on a dying planet,
We’re killing everything that’s alive."
-Song for a dying planet (Joe Walsh)

----

Both songs are Joe Walsh, but I think they make a point (or at least something I'm trying to prove to everyone else). The second song is what a lot of the people here are doing - they are killing without caring because they either refuse to understand, or don't want to understand. The first, is showing you how I felt when I was suicidal - showing you that people have been through the same thing you are going through now...

Live for someone else, Jerry, if you won't live for yourself - it should be obvious, by now, that there are enough people (all who hardly know you) who care - live for those...

"I have decided to go through with this, and am no longer looking for help" -Jerry

If this is the case, then why hang around moping on LJ? Do you really have three weeks worth of "final thoughts" to put down? If you've committed to the deed, then wrap shit up and get it done. If, for some as of yet unexplained reason, you absolutely must go on the 13th of January, then spend this interim time living! Go to Hawaii and learn to surf. Go to Vegas and blow all of your money in an orgy of depravity. Fly to England and eat some really shitty food, or go to France and do the opposite. Chances are you'll find internet cafes throughout the free world, so you wouldn't have to stop posting here. Do some living before you die, man.

Unfortunately I don't have massive amounts of money, and I can't walk to Hawaii. I already know how to surf, anyway. If I had the funds, sure, I'd go see everything I've always wanted to see.

I don't have any "final thoughts" planned out. I just want to do this for my own reasons, which I could try to explain. In fact, I have tried, but it doesn't seem like anyone understands them.

You might want to try again. anonymous December 27 2004, 01:17:19 UTC
Sorry, Jerry, but I've read this entire thing and have not seen you give actual reason why you're going to top yourself.

I was referring to my descision to keep the journal up, not the reasons I plan on killing myself.
