I didn't think 13 would alst long. But I kinda thought it was smart to have more obedience training. I guess then you get in the trouble of: how much training is considered training, and who tests that, and if you train your own dogs can the take a doggie clep test etcetera...

13 would have killed me when I moved out. Probably just basic obedience, like sit, stay, recall, heel. Everything a trained dog should know anyway. Mine dance, though.

I read in tbt today that they are trying to make pet owners pay a 150 dollar fee if their dogs are not fixed...and that fee is annual...so its a buck fifty per year...erm...how is that fair to breeders and owners of "show" dogs...and most importantly how is having a dog fixed gonna keep "mr. crack dealers" dog, whom "mr. crack dealer" beats the shit out of everyday to make it hate people, from attacking someone when they walk into "mr. crack dealers" front yard ( ... )

I don't know about 21...how is my (soon to be) trained therapy dog supposed to go into schools for presentations and, you know, do THERAPY for old folks homes and hospitals.

I think the reasoning behind charging the $150/year is that (to people not educated on the breeding business) if they're a reputable breeder, they should make the money back with the puppies. I think it's more to crack down on backyard breeding, which is a HUGE thing right now for pits. Crack down on backyard breeding, and in the long term, HOPEFULLY less shitheads and more good people will be able to get the pits, since they won't be as accessible, if that makes any sense.

Personally, I think 12 and 21 contradict each other. It's hard to beat bite prevention into a child's head who has never REALLY interacted with a dog. If they prohibit dogs from going into schools for presentations (I personally would have taken more from a hands-on presentation at that age), it's just stupid.

oh no I totally agree with you number 21 is effin retarded...as for the 150 youre right that would be fine on breeders if it was just left at that...but they also what to start litter restrictions...and fine you 200 dollars a litter for litters over a set number of pups...I dont know about other breeders but I have on avg 3 litters a year cus I have 2 studs and 3 bitches (females..sorry girls..im not tryin to insult anyone) which means that 150 per dog...that 5 dogs..plus say they set the litter limit to 3 pups the avg rottie litter can range from 3 to 5 pups thats another 200 dollars per litter plus they technically have the right to charge me an additional 150 per pup per litter...that shits gonna add up and quick...sit back and just do the math there...but none of that was the point..the point was what about owners of show dogs...they dont make as much money off of the breed they own as breeders do these days...and there are ALOT of dog comps that will not allow fixed dogs to appear in the comp. that shit really isnt fair to people ( ... )
