do people not realize that when they say something mildly racist then proceed to defend themselves with "oh no i love black people! my uncles fiance is black!" they sound like complete idiots? seriously?! you love black people?! thats like me saying i love janitors or football players. either way, its a pretty broad statement to make.

People realize that is not socially acceptable to be racist in most situations now-a-days, so its basically the same thing as saying, "thats a good looking guy," then following up with Im not gay though I just fucked a girl last night.
