i don't believe in judging people by their taste in music, but i think a fair enough rule is that you should never trust anyone who categorically dismisses rap music.

Well if they like rap they are more likely to steal your bling-bling.
It could very well be they havn't heard the right type of rap. I am really selective when it comes to artists I enjoy like Common, Talib Kweli and Mos Def.
