i went on a long trip with my friend rachel from san francisco, ca to carbondale, co and it was so beautiful. utah to western colorado was firey red craggy and northern california was full of redwoods and portland had poutain and a beach where i could see washington state and moscow, idaho had lots of gems and our own apartment. pictures soon. now ( Read more... )

this is the work of unica zurn from the 30's and early 40's. she was interested in the 'automatic drawing' of surrealist andre masson, but somehow she totally transcends that for me. she makes it less of a simple philosophical/mental exercise and more of a japanese woodblock meets children's book acid hallucination in a constrictive black button-up ( Read more... )
