I did a solid four hours of skating yesterday and I'm totally feeling it now. It was a lot of fun, though. My neighbor saw me out there and asked if I wasn't a little old for "this stuff" but I don't yet know the meaning of too old. Yesterday was pretty great. I got started skating. It was somewhat crappy weather, being cold and windy and whatnot, but I went out for a couple of hours and just messed around on my street and later in a big mostly-empty church parking lot. Working on pushing, slowing/stopping, carving and tic-tacs...hopefully not teaching myself wrong though. Today I walked around for three hours while listening to my headphones. It was really nice--I don't know what kind of distance I covered exactly, but going with the average I've heard of, 15 minutes per mile at regular walking pace...I walked roughly 12 miles. That's pretty good, for me.

I will soon be learning how to assemble a skateboard...then I'll start learning to skate! I will fall a lot, laugh a lot, be laughed at and probably bust something. I'm really looking forward to it, it will be nice to try something that's new to me. I've got the best teacher I could ask for as long as I don't ruin it, haha.

It's been years since I've done anything for Halloween, so I decided I have to do something this year. I don't think I'll trick-or-treat or anything, but I AM gonna dress up and hang out. I'm hoping to learn to do gorey make-up (keep in mind I've never done REGULAR make-up) and I'm gonna look for some clothes to shred up and bloodify. I'm excited ( Read more... )

today was the last day of high school.
crazy.
I had never been so stressed with my last days of school as I was this year.
but it's over now, for good.
no worries.

time to find the next obstacle.
